Blaming Innocence is my all new story - and from now on I'll write the notices at the beginning. Firstly, thanks for starting to read it and secondly... this one might be a little more exiting than Lost and Found. I'm not exactly sure about the length it's going to be - it might vary from 5 chapters to 15 chapters. Either way, please stay checked in. Now go on and read...
I stared nervously at the bald patch of air in front of me, my eyebrows raised and my mouth pulled up in an uneasy smile. I was nervous, I had been waiting for Inspector Shaw for nearly an hour and he hadn't shown up yet.
The clock showed it was a little past quarter to ten. I was scared then, that the inspector wouldn't come. He was supposed to have been here at 9:00 am. That was weird, that he was late. In every movie or whatever there was a little bit of waiting to build up the tension, but other than that they never wasted more than 15 minutes of waiting.
Then a thought struck me. What if Inspector Shaw never came up? I'd be convicted to at least 3 years jail and I knew it. Or maybe not jail, but certainly juvenile prison!
Just then, I heard a few soft voices, and the opening of a door and a young, handsome black man stepped into my room. Well, it was actually Prince's High School library, but I was stuck here for the hearing. Apparently, I was 'not dangerous enough' to be put in one of those hearing cells in the police office. For that, at least, I was grateful.
Inspector Shaw sat down next to me. I'd talked to him three times over the phone, but I'd never seen him in real life. He had lived way up to my expectations though.
"Good morning, Gemma White," he said, looking at me inspectantly.
Oh yeah, I'm Gemma White. Former student body president before I got moved from St Mary's in England all the way over to Prince's High School in America.
"Morning, Inspector Shaw," I answered back, smiling.
"So, what are you going to tell me?" he asked, leaning forward and looking intently at my face. It was only then that I wondered why on earth any inspector would be wearing the casual clothes he wore.
"The truth," I said bravely. And I started my story...
