Lost and Found - Chapter 9

"Girls," Kyle started, looking at the expressions on the faces of his two daughters who had now been living with him for over a year. After Juliet had found her mother, she had suffered severe head and heart trauma and had stayed in the hospital for four months. After that, they had found the will in which stated that Juliet would be in the protection of Kyle until she was 18 years old and that all her money had would also go to Juliet. Charity had had difficulties too, but dealt with them by working harder for grades and ridding herself of nearly every emotional feeling.
"I have decided that Riverview isn't working for any of us anymore," he continued, fiddling nervously with his fingers under the table.
"So... what did you have in mind? Do you want to move?" Charity asked.
"Yes. I have been given a job as editor at the New Publishers Corporation in Bridgeport,"Kyle stated, and looked at them with finality. "We're going and no exceptions."

Days later, just as the plane was about to leave, Kyle, Charity and Juliet took some pictures.

After the plane had landed, the family of three gasped as they took in the surroundings of their new home.

Although the clouds were blocking the warmth of the sun and their was a chilly breeze blowing through the air, they couldn't have been happier with their new home. It was especially welcoming to Juliet, who, for the last few years, had missed her home incredibly. Charity, too, filled with happiness as she was back to where she had started her life as a tiny toddler.
"Let's call a taxi and get to our new home," Kyle suggested, and all the girls could do was nod and wipe away their tears of happiness.

"So," the driver said. "Did you just move to the city of lights and stardom?"
"We moved back," Juliet replied with confidence as her eyes hungrily took in her childhood home.
"Why'd you move away in the first place then?" The driver inquired, curious as to why anyone would ever want to leave Bridgeport.
There was a deathly silence and the driver shrugged and beeped his horn as they got stuck in traffic.
  "Whatever."

They walked with wide eyes into their new apartment and made their way to the lift.

There was silence except for the whir of the lift as it shot upwards to the top floor where their new home was.

On the wall of the lift hung a small TV.
"So, Dave," the commenter said. "What'd you think of the drama involving the Suns family?"
"To be honest, Harry, I'm speechless. I don't know why in the world that mother of that poor little girl ever could be so evil as to hang herself," The black one replied and sighed.
"I've heard she's come back to Bridgeport to have some peace and maybe start her own acting career," Harry said.
"Whatever she does, God be with her and her family, who I hope are now in the Heavens, protecting their little girl."
As they went on with the rest of the news, a single tear slid down Juliet's face. The silence was eerie.

That night at dinner (which Charity had kindly made), Juliet stared listlessly at her plate.
"Don't you want any?" Kyle asked kindly, but Juliet shook her head and retreated into her room.

Juliet changed into her pajama's and buried herself under her covers.
"God be with you, mum and dad," she whispered before crying herself to sleep.
