Blaming Innocence - Chapter 7

Welcome to the second to last chapter of Blaming Innocence. Yes, indeed, Blaming Innocence is, too, coming to a close. The finale will be up next, but before you start crying with sadness, read on to find who was behind the poisoning...

Hours later, my stomach protesting angrily against the fact that I didn't have breakfast, I was quickly losing hope to find something in the school files. I had been searching everywhere, twice, for ages and I still hadn't found anything.

I hovered my mouse over a file and clicked on it. I hoped that somehow I would find something that would lead to the person who framed me.

My jaw dropped as I looked at the screen and what had popped up.

  Dear Online Diary,

I cannot believe my luck! The new girl - the scholarship one - had been making waffles this morning and she walked away while they were baking! It was such an amazing stroke of luck. I quickly walked into the kitchen and put some of the poison Mr. Boss had given me on two of them.

I didn't really mind which stupid kid ate which waffle - as long as some of them died. In fact, I hoped that either Raymond or Chester would eat one of them. I hate boys (as you know) and would like both of them (at least one of them) to die. And what a way to die as well! The poison goes into your stomach and eats it away until finally it eats your skin away. You die a horrendous death! *mwahahaha*

Evil laughs to you, Mrs. D

I couldn't wait to tell Inspector Shaw!

"I know who did it! I found an online diary and it told me!" I told him excitedly.
"Well, who did it then?" Inspector Shaw asked, equally giddy.
"Haven't you figured it out yet?" I laughed. "Come on, I'll show you."

We walked out of the computer room. I couldn't believe my luck! That 'Mrs. D' had been so stupid as to do that, it was unbelievable! Well, maybe she thought that no one would see it because every ICT lesson was supervised. Still, it was incredible. I walked quickly and briskly up to her office...

We stepped into Mrs. Days' office.
"Welcome to my humble abode, Gemima and Inspector Shaw, do sit down," she said sweetly.

We sat down in chairs opposite her desk.
"Mrs. Days," I started. "I think I know who framed me and put the poison into the waffles."
"Oh do you know?" she said. "Well, I guess that's a good thing. And I would love to see your evidence, if that would be possible."
  "Sure," I replied coldly.

I sat down in front of her computer, and she looked at me with her eyebrows raised.
"Well, that's interesting dear," she muttered, and walked over to where I was sitting.

I turned it on, laughing to myself at her background. I never thought that an old woman would be into rock bands. In fact, the more I thought about it, it started creeping me out instead of amusing me!

I went through the files exactly like last time. I clicked on it.

And I came on a website.
"No!" I cried. "This is impossible!"

"Well, I don't think that's evidence, honey," Mrs. Days said gently.

I searched around the files again for a long time, but I couldn't find it. How was I going to prove that Mrs. Days had done it?
