A look of pain crossed his face as he remembered the satisfied look River had had when the divorce had finished.
"Goodbye and I hope I won't ever see you again," she'd hissed in his face before stalking back home. Her home.
"Come on, honey," Kyle whispered to his daughter. "Let's go inside our new home."
That night, Kyle slept uneasily. He worried about money and a job, and when he did fall asleep, he awoke sweating out of a dream where Charity was taken away by social services.
-
Charity sighed as the bubbles in the sink plopped and then gurgled down the drain. It was her eighth birthday and she wasn't enjoying it - at all. Her father had had to go to work quickly that morning after giving her a new set of clothes for a present. He was working as a cleaner in the theater and Charity had had to go to school alone, where nobody even acknowledged it was her birthday. Now she was cleaning the dishes which had been standing on the table when she came home.Later that evening when she was eating cake for dinner, a sudden thought occurred to her.
"Dad," she started. "Why haven't you ever told me about my mother?"
"That's because you wouldn't want to know about her, honey," Kyle answered quickly, avoiding the question.
"Why?"
"Because she was a horrible woman who left us for someone else."
"Why can't I see her then? And how come I don't know her?"
Kyle coughed and stood up and excused himself. "I'm continuing with my book, honey. We'll talk about this later."
His thoughts were in turmoil as he started furiously ticking away at the old computer. He had never thought to tell his daughter about her mother and he didn't think he ever would. He sighed and continued.
"But..." Charity mumbled, coming up from behind him."No buts, Charity. No get yourself ready for bed, I'll be there to tuck you in in a minute," Kyle replied harshly.
"G'night dad," Charity mumbled as he came into her room to give her a hug.
"Goodnight, sweetie. Now put those pg's on quickly or do I have to tickle you?" Kyle replied with a laugh.
Charity slept soundly dreaming the peaceful dreams of innocent children.
A few years later, Charity looked at her reflection in the mirror. She had just turned 16 and for the first time in a long time her father had taken her to somewhere special. They had gone to the cinema with a few of her friends and then out to dinner. However, her father had spoilt it when his face turned the colour of sour milk and he dragged her out of the restaurant and home. When she'd asked him what the matter was, he hadn't answered and she'd stomped to her room angry. When she came out later it was dark and there were the leftovers of dinner on the table. She remembered the news-paper cutting she'd found in the trash just before she'd thrown the leftovers away.
Famous Simon Suns with family are moving to Riverview!
It had said. And the thought that crossed her mind for a fleeting second was the thought that that could be the reason why Kyle had acted so strangely. She pushed it away immediately.
That was the third chapter of Lost and Found! Thanks for reading and the next one will be out soon!!
Note: Note one wasn't the same as the one on the sims 3 website either because this one was deleted as well.
